Angels and Demons Principalities and Powers on Earth as in Heaven
What do we really know about the Celestials: angels, demons, cherub and seraph? The very fact these exotic creatures even exist should blow your mind! What about the other celestials and hell's own bad boy, Lucifer?
Sadly, Hollywood is notorious for misinformation on both angels and demons. All too often they depict angels as feminine and winged, or a gathering of charming folks helping the not-so-charming humans, or a curly dark-haired guy trying to ‘earn’ his wings. Sadly, especially in art they are depicted as naked babies, or worse yet, as men in black like in the “City of Angels” with Nicholas Cage. And artwork, while amazing nowadays can be appalling as well.
The Hebrew Bible has mostly the same angels, but speaks at greater length about demons, while the Christian Bible doesn't seem to be aware the Old Testament even has demons. And there are some interesting variations due to the interpretation of Hebrew to English and the personal choices scholars make. It all makes for a fascinating read.
Angels and demons do exist, but not always as some would have us believe, they are a species of celestial beings who are not at all like we may imagine and they're not alone in the heavens. And if you believe they are the same as Cherubim and Seraphim, think again. Even bigger surprise - Satan is no angel! Regardless of whether angel, cherub or seraph, “if there were no angels, likely life would not be the same. Most of us would love to know more, and even meet these celestials one day.
Brandy Marks wrote Angels and Demons because, like many of you, she wanted to know the truth from the fiction flowing in and out of fantasy novels, like Dan Brown’s ‘Angels and Demons’ and others.
